Dry-Ice Blasting: A Better, Faster Way to Clean

Blast Away Fire and Water Damage without Damaging Surfaces

When water, fire or mold damages your home or business, it’s critical to ensure the cleanup doesn’t cause additional harm. That’s why Clarke Contractors only uses dry-ice blasting from Ice Blasters USA. It’s superior to other cleaning methods. Why? For starters, it’s soft, unlike abrasive sand, which means it won’t damage the underlying surface. It also works harder and faster, and because it uses harmless CO2 pellets, it’s better for you and the environment.

How It Works

Dry-ice blasting is similar to sand blasting, plastic bead blasting and soda blasting in how it works. To clean a surface, a medium (dry ice in this case) accelerates in a pressurized air stream.

But instead of using hard, abrasive media to grind on a surface (and damage it), dry ice blasting uses soft dry ice. When accelerated at supersonic speeds, it creates mini explosions on the surface to lift, and literally blast away, the damage.

4 Reasons to Choose Dry-Ice Blasting

  • A faster, deeper clean.
Compared to scrubbing with abrasive pads or wire brushes, dry-ice blasting cleans better and takes significantly less time.
  • Won’t damage your stuff.
Unlike abrasive methods, dry ice lifts contaminants away to clean without damaging materials. The equipment can also be cleaned in place, which eliminates the risk of damage from moving it to a separate cleaning area.
  • Eco-friendly.
Instead of using solvents, dry-ice blasting cleans with harmless CO2 pellets – a boon for companies that must comply with environmental regulations or improve worker safety.
  • Less waste.
Because the CO2 pellet vaporizes upon contact, the only waste created is the contaminant itself. This alone can result in significant waste reduction.
